Featured Faves

Featured Photographer
Rob Miller

TLC has been awfully fortunate to have had some amazingly talented professionals on their side.  Using a blog as our primary source of publicity has meant all our pieces have had to be photographed (with their best sides forward), before viewing.

Skilled photographer, Rob Miller, has been making TLC furniture pout behind the lense, creating phenomenal results that have allowed our pieces to be featured in newspapers and mags alike. Here's more about the man behind the lense...

Robert Miller is well known for his skills as a panoramic photographer and for his unique studio lighting talents both of which have resulted in him winning numerous awards. His attention to detail, quest for perfect images, unique lighting and technical skills  have led to him working with a host of very prestigious clients. When not shooting he is in high demand to present talks on lighting with small flash systems and recently teamed up with Nikon South Africa, to present a booked out series of talks that have been attended by both amateur and professional photographers.

His work published online has led to him being invited to join the ranks of some exceptional international photographers and has afforded him the opportunity to show case his work in many “By Invitation” only forums on the internet.

'Bestest' Blogger!

SF Girl by Bay
Listen, we aint denying the fact that we are a very patriotic pair, but a bit of globe trotting never interfered with anyones roots and well... if you gave me a ticket to anywhere right this second I would be heading off to San Fransico. For thepast few years I have been following this blog and have had my appetite repeatedly whet...

It is a delicious compilation of all things interior and design and it has its home in the great San Fran!
Author/curator Vicki does a really splendid job of putting together a read that never fails to entice/inspire and enthrall and often has her focus on all things vintage and retro. One of my favourite posts is her... "separated at birth"

Honestly... spare a moment and take a peek!

More Fabulous Fabrics!

OK..... So there are so many reasons why we love todays 'featured fave' that I have decided to do it in list form!

At this stage I am pretty sure that anyone who has even the remotest interest in interiors or design will  have heard of or at least recognize  the fabulous wares of The Design Team.

We absolutely LOVE their new range and here is our list of reasons why we are tipping our hats and raising our glasses to Lise Butler and Amanda Haupt ....

1) They are an inspiring female duo (we relate to this) putting South African design on the map!
2) Their range is funky and colourful
3) Their images are nostalgically South African
4) They source and produce in South Africa
5)Their is an element of quirkiness we respect greatly in design
6) Their brilliant blend of mid-century/ retro style furniture used to display their fabrics
7) Their desire to inspire, which we feel they have greatly accomplished

Well done ladies!

We LOVE this Store
and here are four very good reasons why...
For twenty years Hadeda have brought the colour and beauty of Central and South America to South Africa. Enter the magical Frida Kahlo-inspired building, vibrant with colour, and feel like you are in the heart of South America.
Our Hadeda stores in Johannesburg and Cape Town are veritable treasure troves full of hand-crafted items from Mexico, Guatamala, Peru and Columbia (or wherever our journey takes us). You will find home-ware, lighting, furniture, oven to table pewter, art, fabrics, objects, bags and more.
Our policy is to stock hand-made items that are unique to our stores and not readily available in South Africa. Hadeda is a specialist shopping destination.
If you are searching for the perfect gift, that special décor item for your home or something that adds a sense of fun to your life, then you are sure to find it here.
